You will possibly be aware the Association’s Financial Year ends on 30 September with the Annual Consideration of Business to be held within 4 months of that date.
I thought it appropriate to remind Clubs of the present Constitutional requirements for the Election of Officers and Notice of Motions Clauses which are as follows:
5.3 All Officers shall be elected by postal ballot in Annual Consideration of General Business, except as otherwise provided. Officers shall retire annually but shall be eligible for re-election without nomination, otherwise all candidates for office must he nominated by a life member, an affiliated club with the nomination being endorsed by the club secretary, or by a boat owner who complies with clause 3.4 and has had the nomination endorsed by ten (10) voting members. All nominations must be in writing arid be received by the Honorary Secretary no later
than the 1st day of November each year.
7.2 Motions for the Annual Consideration of General Business must be in the hands of the Honorary Secretary NZRYA not later than 1st of November each year.
In respect of Association Officers, I am prepared to toss my name in the hat which I believe Ian and Rod are in the same category, After many years of sterling service Alan Hayes is retiring, therefore we will require a Registrar and of course a Newsletter Editor. Please note the above requirements and let me have the names of any takers by the prescribed date.
Regarding the Notice of Motions, Council will be forwarding to all financial Clubs/members a proposed new Constitution containing suggestions received from Clubs/members earlier in the year.
RSD have sent out a questionnaire regarding RM and R10R rules, unfortunately those of us in this part of the world (NZL and AUS) got it too late too actually send it back by the time set.
ALL RM and R10R owners should look at the proposals and send in your responses ASAP to me and I will collate and forward the results to the appropriate person. Replies must be in my inbox by 7pm Thursday 27 Sept.
Reply form Please use this, not the one embedded in the questionnaire
R10R Questionnaire Use the form embedded in this one as I’m not expecting any replies from NZL 10R owners
Well it’s time for me to put my NZ IOMCA rep hat on again to tell those IOM owners that are interested that there is some more voting to be done for the upcoming IOMICA AGM. For those that are interested, visit www.iomclass.org find out what the proposals to be voted on are, and who is standing for office. Let me know what your vote is and I will pass it on to the meeting rep.
If you are the current ‘official’ owner of an IOM in NZ you are entitled to vote.
After the pitiful responses to the last two AGM voting forms I am NOT sending out forms this year - if you care about it you should already be aware of the upcoming meeting, the proposals, and the candidates and will vote accordingly.
Send your votes along with your boat details to this address
